Rhythm of the Seasons – Summer Solstice Yoga
Drawing from traditional Ashtanga and hatha style yoga, this unique offering allows students to use the power of yoga to further their personal evolution through the journey of self-actualization. Through yoga, we’ll explore deep spiritual and natural world concepts using imagery and awareness to cultivate an appreciation for the physical and spiritual world. Yoga for the Spirit focuses on and enhances the mind/body/spirit connection within and without. Every class is open to all levels of yoga, including beginners, with modifications available for greater challenge or to deepen your practice.
Each week we will explore a different theme for class.
This year the summer solstice falls on June 21st for the northern hemisphere. The longest day and the shortest night of the year, the summer solstice vibration brings along with it fire, creativity and the raw power of manifestation. The summer solstice is about action. Through the ages, drawing on the power of the sun has been a well-known ritual and practice. Just as the trees, flowers, and blades of grass lean towards the golden orb, we will practice with appreciation and respect in our hearts for this incredible life force. Use this time to focus on what you wish to nurture and develop in the coming months, before the winter darkness sends us back into hibernation and reflection. You will be safely guided through various flows and cool-downs intended to create heat (energy) and focus on intentions to manifest your desires.
Class: $15/ per person. Register or Drop in. Availability is limited, so you may want to call ahead if you are planning on dropping in. This will be an intimate class size of 5-6 people.
