Bitter, warming and stimulating. Key constituents include inulin, volatile oils, saponins and more. Traditional uses include chest infections, digestive issues and others. Can be decocted (altho it is a bit bitter). We like tincturing it or making a sweet syrup (make an infusion and simmer until it has reduced by half before adding honey (or sugar, but we prefer the more soothing nature of good, local honey).
